Dr. Lori Stevic-Rust is a board-certified Clinical Health Psychologist who holds a doctoral degree in psychology and earned a Diplomate from the American Board of Professional Psychology. She completed an internship at Henry Ford Hospital with specialty training in geriatrics, cardiac care, and integrative medicine.
She is an international dementia care consultant working with hospitals, post-acute care facilities and assisted living facilities on clinical issues of senior care including anxiety/depression, caregiver stress and the creation of innovative programs for the care of those with dementia.
Dr. Stevic-Rust has written five books on topics ranging from depression, heart disease and wellness, a personal memoir on the art of aging with gratitude, Greedy for Life and her recent book Put on Your Big Girl Shoes: Stepping into Courage, Resilience, and Gratitude. She is an award-winning motivational and educational Keynote Speaker on clinical topics of healthy aging, living with purpose, caregiver stress, the health benefits of gratitude and courage. Her infectious enthusiasm, wealth of knowledge, engaging style and warm sense of humor have afforded her the title of “best motivational speaker” by many organizations.
Over the past twenty-seven years, she has been a regular on-air media consultant for national television and radio broadcasts. She writes a monthly Dr. Lori column for several magazines and is a regular contributor to the Huffington Post and HuffLive.
She currently serves as the Director of Integrative Medicine and Senior Services for Lake Health Hospital and is the National Director of Clinical and Operational Programming for Artower Advisory Services, LLC. She is the past Director for Assisted Living & Dementia Care Programs for University Hospitals in Cleveland where she developed innovative therapeutic programs for residents in the moderate to late stages of dementia including clinical use for a multi-sensory environment (snoezelen therapy).
Dr. Stevic-Rust has become a leader in her community known for volunteering her services to many organizations. She has been involved in mentoring programs for young women and helping women who have been victims of violence regain their sense of self- esteem. Her strong advocacy for seniors earned her the outstanding leadership award in the field of Adult Abuse, Awareness & Prevention by the Western Reserve Area on Aging. She has been honored as a 2013 Woman of Achievement from the YWCA and Inducted into the KSU Hall of Fame in 2017 as a distinguished Alumni.
She is the President of the board of the Lake County Council on Aging and serves on the professional advisory board for the Alzheimer’s Association and is a board member for the Center for Dialysis Care.
